Open-Minded Crafting Fun Challenge #15 "Vacation" - DT post

Another fortnight has passed and we have a great new challenge at Open-Minded Crafting Fun Challenges.

The theme for the next two weeks is "Vacation Related" and I got to use this super "Beach Resort Sassy" by Sassy Studio Designs in my DT card.

I first planned to make a CAS card with just one strip of DP and the image, but I just couldn't make it work. So I ended up adding another strip of DP and some brown paper in the middle. I used the same brown paper to layer the image and the text. The DP is from DCWV's Tahiti Beach Stack, which is one of my favourites. I coloured the image with ProMarkers and added some Glossy Accent to her sunglasses, although it's not shown very well in the image. I wrote the text in black with a sablon and used some 3D foam pads under the text block for added dimension. In addition just few paperflowers coloured with nailpolish and some gems in the centres.

I'm really happy with the end-result especially since it first felt like I just can't make this work like I'd want to. Even the colouring of the image is pretty good, although the highlights in her hair are bit too strong...

Taas on vierähtänyt kaksi viikkoa ja Open-Minded Crafting Fun Challenges -blogissa on taas uusi mahtava haaste! Seuraavat viikot ollaan lomatunnelmissa, sillä aiheena on "Vacation Related". Tämä Sassy Studio Designsin makea digi "Beach Resort Sassy" sopii aiheeseen loistavasti, joten olin erittäin ilahtunut saadessani kuvan käytettäväksi DT-kortissani.

Olin alunperin ajatellut tekeväni CAS-kortin ja käyttäväni vain yhden kuviopaperisuikaleen kuvan lisäksi, mutta jotenkin en vain saanut korttia toimaan sellaisena. Niinpä lisäsin toisen suikaleen samaa kuviopaperia ja keskelle korttia ruskeaa paperia, jota käytin myös kuvan ja tekstiblokin taustalla. Kuviopaperi on DCWV:n Tahiti Beach Stack -lehtiöstä, joka on yksi ehdottomia suosikkejani. Väritin kuvan ProMarkereilla ja lisäsin aurinkolaseihin hieman Glossy Accentia, joka tosin näkyy valitettavan huonosti tässä kuvassa. Kirjoitin tekstin mustalla ohutkärkisellä tussilla sabloonan läpi ja kohottelin 3D tarrapaloilla irti pohjasta. Lisänä muutama kynsilakalla värjätty kukka, joiden keskellä on blingit.
