Kirjekuorikortti

Nyt tulee pitkä postaus, joten ota kuppi kuumaa ja mukava asento vaikka sohvan nurkassa. :) Loppuvuosi on ollut melkoista hulinaa, mikä on näkynyt blogissakin harvenneiden postausten määränä. Nyt hiljennyn pikkuhiljaa joululomalle ja blogikin hiljenee entisestään. Teen ehkä vielä yhden joulupostauksen, mutta muuten keskityn olemaan enimmäkseen offline. Toivotankin siis jo tässä vaiheessa Hyvää ja Rauhallista Joulua kaikille lukijoilleni!

This is gonna be a long post, so crab a cup of something good and hot and make yourself comfy e.g. on the corner of the sofa. :) End of the year has been quite a hassle and my blog hasn't been the most active due to that. Now I'm going to make it even quieter and enjoy Christmas holiday. I may write one more Xmas post, but otherwise I'll be mainly offline during the holidays. So I want to wish all my readers already now Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays!

Törmäsin muistaakseni Facebookissa video-ohjeeseen, jossa oli tehty ns. flip book -kortti kirjekuorista ja innostuin kovasti tuosta helposta, mutta näyttävästä tavasta tehdä vähän erikoisempi kortti... En nyt kuolemaksenikaan muista, että mikä video se oli, jota seurasin tätä tehdessäni, mutta jos YouTubeen kirjoittaa "envelope flip book", niin sieltä löytyy todella monta ohjetta.

I ran into a video tutorial about envelope flip book card in Facebook and wanted to try this simple, but impressing technique. I can't remember, which video tutorial I originally followed, but there are several available on YouTube if you just search for "envelope flip book".

Tämän kortin tein syntymäpäiväkortiksi/-lahjaksi läheiselleni.

I made this card / gift for a birthday of one family member.

Käytin työssäni ihan tavallisia valmiita kirjekuoria, joita saattui laatikosta löytymään. Päällystin kirjekuoret kuviopapereilla, jotka olen saanut äidiltäni. Kuviopaperit olivat irtolehtiä, joten valitettavasti en tiedä niiden valmistajaa... Tässä siis kortti suljettuna. Käytin kiinnitykseen Velcro tarranauhaa - siis sellaista tekstiilitarranauhaa, jossa toinen pinta on pehmeä ja toinen karhea. Ostin tarranauhaa Eurokankaasta ja leikkasin siitä sopivan palasen kiinnitykseksi.

I used in my project just basic envelopes that I had at home. I covered all the envelopes with various DPs, which I've got from my mum at some point. The DPs were individual sheets, so unfortunately I don't know the manufacturer... In this first picture you see the card closed. I used some velcro for closing the envelope.

Kun korttia alkaa sitten avata, niin ensimmäisenä tulee tämmöinen tasku näkyviin. Tuohon taskuun laitoin onnittelukortin, jonka tein myös itse.

When you start opening the card, this is the first pocket you have. I made a congratulations card and put that in this first pocket.

Tässä onnittelukortti. Kuva on FaeryInkin "Lahla Tiger Lily Fae" ja se oli FaerynInkin blogissa syyskuussa yhden päivän ilmaiskuvana. Väritin kuvan ProMarkereilla ja stanssasin Nellie Snellenin ympyrästanssilla. Kuviopaperi on samoja papereita, mitä käytin kirjekuorien päällystämiseen. Lisukkeena hopeisia ääriviivatarroja, muutama blingi sekä paperikukkia. Yhden kukan keskustaan lisäsin vielä haaraniitin.

This is the congratulations card I made. The image is "Lahla Tiger Lily Fae" by FaeryInk and it was a One Day Fae Giveaway in FaeryInk's blog in September. I coloured the image with ProMarkers and cut with Nellie Snellen's circle die. The DP is one of the same DPs I used to cover the envelopes. In addition some silver peel-off stickers, few blings and paperflowers. I added a brad to the centre of one of the flowers.

Seuraava tasku näyttää tältä. Liimailin hopeisia ääriviivatarraruusuja kuviopaperiin ja stanssasin Marianne Designs'in stanssilla LOVE-tekstin kuviopaperiin mätsäävästä kartongista. Taskuun laitoin jääkaappimagneetin.

The next pocket looks like this. I added some silver peel-off sticker roses on the DP and cut the LOVE text with Marianne Designs die. I used a cardstock matching the DP colours for the die cut. The pocket holds a fridge magnet.

Seuraavassa taskussa on koristeena washiteippiä sekä hopeinen ääriviivatarra. Taskusta puolestaan löytyy kortti, jossa on Fiskarsin leimasimella leimattu sitaatti ja takapuolelle kirjoitettu henkilökohtainen tervehdys. Kortin kuoviopaperit on Papermanian.

The next pocket has some washi tape and silver peel-off sticker as a decoration. I made a small card to put inside the pocket. It has a quote by Abraham Lincoln (stamp by Fiskars) and a personal greeting handwritten on the backside. The DPs of the card are by Papermania.

Ja taskut jatkuvat... Tässä koristeena on ääriviivatarraperhonen, jonka olen liimannut helmiäiskartongille ja leikannut irti. Sinivalkea perhonen on puolestaan tehty Spellbindersin stanssilla. Lisäksi kasasin "Dream" tekstin ääriviivatarroilla.

And the pockets continue... Here I used some silver peel-off sticker butterfly, which I attached on blue pearlscent cardstock and then cut it. The white-and-blue dotty butterfly is cut with Spellbinders die. The text is made with silver peel-off stickers.

Tämän taskun sisältä löytyy myös pieni tervehdys. Kuviopaperi on samaa kuin kirjekuoressa, lisukkeena valkoista ääriviivatarraa, pitsipaperia sekä Fiskarsin leimasimella leimattu teksti.

This pocket holds also a small greeting card. The DP is the same than in the envelope, in addition some white peel-off stickers, doily and a text stamped with Fiskars stamp.

Viimeinen tasku on koristeltu jälleen hopeisilla ääriviivatarroilla. Taskun sisältä löytyy itsetehty lahjakortti. Kortissa on käsintehtyä paperia, valkeaa kuitukangasta sekä hopeinen ääriviivatarrateksti.

The last pocket is again decorated with silver peel-off stickers. Inside the pocket you find a handmade gift card. I used some handmade paper in the gift card and covered that partly with white non-woven fabric. The text is a silver peel-off sticker and it says "gift card" in Finnish.
 

Tässä vielä koko kortti avattuna sekä etu- että takapuolelta. Vaikka kortti oli melko työläs, kun siitä teki näin ison, niin oli kyllä todella hauska tehdä. YouTubessa on paljon myös ohjeita, joissa kortin sisälle tehdään lisätaskuja tai pieniä taittuvia välisivuja tms., mutta itse aloitin nyt tämmöisestä hyvin simppelistä versiosta.

Here you see the whole card open both front and back sides. Although there was plenty of work to make this as the card is so big, it was still lots of fun. On YouTube you'll find also plenty of instructions where you make additional pockets or small inside pages in the card, but I wanted to start with a simple version.

Kettukortti kaverille

Tervehdys rakkaat lukijani! Pahoitteluni, että blogissa on ollut aikamoista hiljaiseloa enkä ole ehtinyt muidenkaan blogeihin kuikuilemaan. Nyt kuitenkin suunnataan kohti viikonloppua, joten ehtii taas hieman miettiä askartelujakin. Tänään on vuorossa kettukortti ystävälle leiskuvissa väreissä.

Digikuva on Polkadoodlesin "Fox" ja väritetty Derwent Inktense -kynillä, joilla hemmottelin itseäni, kun olivat alennuksessa joulun jälkeen. Vaatii vielä harjoittelua, mutta tähän kuvaan olen kohtuullisen tyytyväinen. Stanssasin kuvan (ja muut ympyrät) Nellie Snellenin ympyrästansseilla ja mustetin Distress Inkin sävyllä "Tea dye". Kerrostukseen käytin tummaa, viininpunaista kartonkia, joka löytyi silppulaatikosta. Taustan olen kierrättänyt yhdestä kutsusta. Teksti on FinnStamperin ja koristeena punainen sydän-haaraniitti.

Hello my dear readers! Sorry, that I've been MIA lately, but luckily my weekend began today, so I can dedicate some time for crafting. :) I hope you are having a great day/evening/night - wherever you are! Today's card is having rich, warm colours with this super cute "Fox" by Polkadoodles. I colored the image with my brand-new Derwent Inktense pencils, which I bought as a treat to myself from a sale after Christmas. I definitely need some practice with those pencils, but I'm quite happy how this particular image turned out. I cut the image (and the other circles too) with Nellie Snellen circle die and inked the image with Distress Ink "Tea dye". I used some dark, wine red cardstock from my scraps box for layering. The "DP" is actually some cardstock that I cut out of an old invitation - so definitely scraps too. :) The text says "to a friend" in Finnish and it's by FinnStamper.  In addition just a red heart brad.

Warm Winter Wishes

No joo, tässä kortissa ei ole tervehdystä valmiina, mutta tuo kuva mielestäni huutaa lämpimiä talviterveisiä, joten siitä otsikko. :)

Kuva on Polkadoodlesin "Hot Chocolate Octavia Frosted Winter", jonka ostin samalla kun lunastin Polkadoodles Shabby Chick -haasteessa voittamani lahjakortin (samalla ostoskoriin päätyi aikamoisen monta ihanuutta, niitä tipahtelee tänne blogiin esille pikkuhiljaa). Väritin kuvan ProMarkereilla, lisäsin maahan Sticklesiä (Frosted Lace) lumeksi ja kuorrutin Octavian lasit Glossyllä. Kuviopaperit on kaikki DCWV:n The Christmas and The Winter 180-lehtiöstä, lisukkeena myös vähän sinistä kartonkia. Taustalla ja kuvan alla käytin kerrostukseen harmaata kartonkia. Lisukkeena Fiskarsin lävistäjällä leikattuja lumihiutaleita, jotka on kuorrutettu Sticklesillä. Niin ja leiska on Papertake Weekly -haasteen mallileiska #67, jota pyöräytin 90-astetta.

Tässä vielä lähikuva Octaviasta, yritin saada lasien kiiltävän pinnan näkyviin, mutta näköjään olemattomalla menestyksellä.

Today's card doesn't have any sentiment, but I think the image screams "Warm Winter Wishes" hence the title of my post. :) The image is wonderful "Hot Chocolate Octavia Frosted Winter" by Polkadoodles and I got her when shopping with my gift voucer, which I won from Polkadoodles Shabby Chick challenge. I did get some other goodies at the same time, but those you'll see later when I first get to colour them all and make cards (or something else) with those pretty images.

I coloured the image with ProMarkers and added some Stickles (Frosted Lace) as snow on the bottom of the image. I did use some Glossy on Octavias goggles and tried to show that in the close-up image, but obviously it's pretty invisible in the photos... The papers are by DCWV from their The Christmas and The Winter 180 Stack and in addition I used some blue cardstock. This was again one of my "colour the image first and then try to find matching papers" cards and I simply didn't have any DPs with right shade of blue matching Octavia's scarf and mittens, so therefore I had to use just plain cardstock. I used some cardstock also for layering the image and on the background, though in the shade of grey. In addition some snowflakes punched with small Fiskars punch and covered with Stickles. The sketch is borrowed from Papertake Weekly Challenge, it's sketch #67.

Shabby Chic hääkortti

Viime viikonloppuna juhlittiin syyshäitä ja tottahan toki hääparille piti kortti tehdä.

Kuva on söpö Sliekje'n "Wedding" digi, jonka väritin ProMarkereilla. Stanssasin kuvan ja sen taustan Sizzixin stanssilla, ressasin reunoja ihan varovasti saksilla ja mustetin Distress Inkin sävyllä "Tea dye". Taustan kuviopaperi on Papermanian lehtiöstä. Ressasin myös kuviopaperin ja sen taustapaperin reunat saksilla ja mustetin tuolla samalla Distress Inkillä. Tekstin tulostin koneella ja stanssasin Sizzixin "Love Story" stanssisetin sydämellä. Taustan stanssasin saman setin piparkakkureunaisella sydämellä. Koska musiikki on sekä morsiamen että sulhasen sydäntä lähellä, niin stanssasin pätkän nuottiviivastoa ekopaperista. Lisukkeena pitsiä, kakkupaperilasinalunen, paperiruusuja sekä koristeneulaan pujotettuja helmiä.

We celebrated a wedding last weekend and of course I had to make a card for the happy couple. The image is cute freebie digi "Wedding" by Sliekje and I coloured it with ProMarkers. I cut the image and its background with Sizzix dies, distressed the edges very slightly with scissors and inked with Distress Ink "Tea dye". The DP is by Papermania. I distressed also the edges of the DP and the eco paper matting it. The text says "For the two of you" in Finnish and it's typed and printed with computer. I cut the text with Sizzix "Love Story" heart die and used another heart die from the same set to cut the eco paper matting it. Since music is close to the heart of the wedding couple, I cut a piece of staff out of eco paper. In addition I used some lace, doily, paper roses and a decorative needle with some additional pearls.

Maistuisiko pala kirsikkapiirasta?

Tässä synttärikortissa on nimittäin kirsikkapiiras pääosassa.

Kortti oli oikea pikakortti, tempaisin sen kasaan puolessa tunnissa värityksineen kaikkineen, kun mies oli jo suunnilleen vetämässä ulkokamppeita niskaan... Kaverin syntymäpäiville oltiin siis menossa eikä sopivaa korttia ollut valmiina. Tässä taustalla DCWV:n kuviopaperia kraftilla kehystettynä. Doodle Pantryn ilmainen "Cherry Pie" -kuva on väritetty ProMarkereilla ja stanssattu Nellie Snellenin stansseilla. Tietokoneella kirjoitettu ja tulostettu teksti on stanssattu saman sarjan pienemmällä stanssilla. Sekä kuvan että tekstin taustalla on myös kraftia. Lisukkeena paria erilaista nauhaa.

How about some cherry pie? This was a super quick card that I made in half-an-hour (colouring and all) when hubby was almost out of the door. We were heading to friend's birthday party and I didn't have any suitable card ready. I've used here a freebie image "Cherry Pie" by Doodle Pantry, which I've coloured with ProMarkers and cut with Nellie Snellen's die set. The text says "Happy Birthday" in Finnish and I've typed it with computer. I used the same Nellie Snellen die set to cut the text too. The DP is by DCWV and I used kraft for matting. In addition couple of different ribbons and that was it.

Open-Minded Crafting Fun Challenge #17 "Last Days of Summer" - DT post

Once again a fortnight has passed by with such a speed that I needed to double check from the calendar that which day it is now. But since it's Saturday 16th August (what happended to June and July?), it means it's time for a new challenge at Open-Minded Crafting Fun Challenge blog! 

This time the theme is "Last Days of Summer" and I think the timing is pretty perfect - although our days began to remind me already more of the autumn than summer. It's been getting cooler and rainy the whole week and we've had some thunder storms as well. Ok, enough of chit chat. :)

In my DT card I used this lovely sponsor image "Tiffany Reading Book" by MilkCoffee. This was my first ever MilkCoffee image to colour, but I loved it so much! Definitely won't be the last one. :) I went with bright summery colours, but wanted to bring some feeling of the approacing autumn and therefore I chose the DPs with not-so-bright orange and also the green one is toned-down a bit. I coloured the image with ProMarkers and inked the sky with Versa Magic "Sea breeze". The yellow "sun" behind the image is cut with Sizzix die and it's more like a doily, but aligned like this it reminds me of sun. The ribbon was bought from Jo-Ann's during my trip to US in July. In addition some paper flowers cut with Fiskars punch with some golden gel pen in their centres and petals as well as a ready-made paperboard greeting "Summer Days", which had a bling in it too. :)

I decorated also the inside of the card using the same DP and yellow paper, which I used on the cover. As you can see the paperboard greeting on the cover is attached using 3D foam pads for added dimension.

Jälleen on kaksi viikkoa mennyt sellaisessa hujauksessa, että piti oikein kalenterista tarkistaa mikä päivä tänään on. Koska näyttää tosiaan olevan lauantai elokuun 16. päivä, niin sehän tarkoittaa sitä, että Open-Minded Crafting Fun Challenges -blogissa alkaa uusi haaste. Tällä kertaa teemana on "Last Days of Summer", mikä sopiikin ajankohtaan paremmin kuin hyvin, sillä kesän viimeiset päivät ovat todellakin käsillä. Itse asiassa täällä meillä päin päivät alkavat jo kallistua enempi syksyyn kuin kesään viilentyneine ilmoineen ja sateineen.

Lisukkeena Fiskarsin lävistäjällä leikattuja kukkia, joihin tein keskustat ja terälehtien viivat kultaisella geelikynällä sekä valmis pahvileikekoriste, jossa lukee "Summer Days" ja oli blingi valmiiksi kiinni. Koristelin myös kortin sisäpuolen samalla kuviopaperilla sekä keltaisella yksivärisellä paperilla, joita käytin myös kortin kannessa.
