You're Sew Sweet

Ystävänpäivä alkaa kääntyä jo iltaan, mutta vielä yksi ystävänpäiväkortiksikin sopiva kortti tähän päivään. Tämä kortti sai innoituksensa ääriviivatarroista sekä JK Primecon kuviopaperista.

Ostin ompeluaiheisen, ruskea-kultaisen ääriviivatarra-arkin, josta poimin korttiini ompelukoneen, tekstin ja sydämet. Taustalle laitoin JK Primecon kuviopaperia, jonka kerrostin tummanruskealla kartongilla. Lisukkeena upeaa ruskea-kultaista läpikuultavaa nauhaa. Mielestäni tämä ruskea värimaailma sopi aivan täydellisesti tuon vanhan ompelukoneen kanssa, joten menin hyvin yksivärisellä linjalla.

Valentine's Day is turning to night soon here in Finland, but one card for today too. This would make a nice Valentine's Day card too (or Friend's Day like we call it in Finland). The card was inspired by peel-off stickers and the DP by JK Primeco. The sewing machine, the sentiment and hearts are all from the same peel-off sticker set. The DP is matted with chocolate brown cardstock. In addition just some beautiful brown-and-gold see-through ribbon. I thought that the brown colour scheme fits perfectly with that old sewing machine, so I made a monochrome card.

Kortin kaveriksi tein kirjanmerkin, jossa käytin samaa ruskeaa kartonkia ja JK Primecon kuviopaperia kuin mitä kortissakin. Taustalla on tosin myös ekokartonkia antamassa kirjanmerkille vähän jämäkkyyttä. Myös ääriviivatarrat on samasta setistä kuin kortissa. Kirjanmerkkiin en kuitenkaan lisännyt nauhaa, sillä halusin pitää tämän mahdollisimman sileänä. Oikeassa elämässä kortti ja kirjanmerkki ovat samanväriset, mutta kuvausolosuhteet tekivät kepposet, joten kirjanmerkin paperi näyttää aika erisävyiseltä kuin kortin...

I made also a bookmark with the same theme. I used the same brown cardstock and DP by JK Primeco as in the card. The base is however eco cardstock to make the bookmark a bit more sturdier. Also the peel-off stickers are from the same set as the ones in the card. However, I wanted to keep the bookmark as slim as possible, so I didn't add the ribbon. By the way, in real life the card and the bookmark are actually identical in colours, it's just that when taking the photos the light was playing with me and therefore the shades of colours look different in the bookmark than in the card.

OMCF Challenge #2 "Love / Valentine" - DT Post

It is time for another challenge at Open-Minded Crafting Fun Challenges! The theme for the next month is:

I wanted to go the romantic way and try to add several layers and plenty of different elements, but still let the image shine in the main role of my card.

I got to use this sweet image "My heart to you" by our sponsor Ppinky Dolls who generously provided me with the image. I coloured the image with ProMarkers. The DP on the background is from my scraps box. I used some red cardstock for layering and cut the "Love" text out of the same cardstock with Marianne Design's die. In addition some creme lace, some red-green flower lace and paper flowers coloured with ProMarkers. I made the centre for the flower with flat pearls.

Tänään starttaa uusi haaste Open-Minded Crafting Fun -haasteblogissa. Aiheena seuraavan kuukauden ajan on "rakkaus/ystävänpäivä". Halusin tehdä kortistani oikein runsaan ja romanttisen, mutta pitää kuitenkin kuvan pääosassa. Sain DT-työhöni käyttööni sponsorimme Ppinky Dollsin suloisen kuvan "My heart to you", jonka väritin ProMarkereilla. Kuviopaperi löytyi silppulaatikosta. Kerrostukseen käytin punaista kartonkia, josta leikkasin myös Love-tekstin Marianne Designsin stanssilla. Lisukkeena kerman väristä pitsiä sekä puna-vihreästä kukkapitsistä leikattu koriste ja ProMarkereilla väritetty paperikukka. Kukan keskustan rakensin puolihelmistä.

Ystävykset

Ystävänpäivä on kohta ovella, joten sillä mielellä syntyi tämänpäiväinen kortti.

Kuva on The East Windin "Baby Aurora Friendship", joka tuli helmikuun uutiskirjeen mukana ilmaiskuvana. Väritin kuvan Promarkereilla ja leikkasin irti ääriviivoja myöten. Taustan kuviopaperi on ehkä Papermanian, mutta se löytyi silppulaatikosta. Kerrostukseen käytin vihreää tekstuuripintaista kartonkia, tekstin leimasin Timpan leimalla. Lisukkeena vihreää kuitukangasta, jonka yläreunan leikkasin hapsuille saadakseni siihen hieman ruohomaisen vaikutelman. Ei tosin näy oikein kunnolla kuvassa, mutta luonnossa efekti on ihan hauska.

So Valentine's Day is almost here - in Finland we celebrate "Friend's Day" instead, so this image is quite perfect for that. The image is "Baby Aurora Friendship" by The East Wind and I got it as a freebie with February's newsletter. I coloured the image with ProMarkers and fussy cut it. The DP is from my scraps box, but I think it's by Papermania. I used some green texture cardstock for layering and stamped the text with Tim Holtz stamp. In addition some green non-woven fabric, which I cut with scissors from the top to imitate grass. Unfortunately it's not clearly visibile in the photo, but in real life it looks quite nice.

Ystävät ovat enkeleitä maan päällä

Tänään haluan jakaa kanssanne vähän hempeämmän kortin. Vaikka ystävänpäivään on vielä tovi, niin tämä kortti sopii mielestäni loistavasti ystävänpäiväkortiksi!

Enkelitägi on Reprintin arkista. Leikkasin sen irti ja mustetin reunat Distress Inkin sävyllä "Vintage Photo". Taustalla on tekstuuripintaista ruskeaa kartonkia sekä Michele R Designsin vaaleanpunaista digipaperia. Lisukkeena pitsiä, ProMarkereilla väritetty paperikukka ja yksi dimangi. Tägissä oli teksti valmiina - todella kaunis ajatus "ystävät ovat enkeleitä maan päällä". :)

Today I'm sharing with you a card for a friend with some romantic look and feel. The tag is from a scrap sheet by Reprint and I inked the edges with Distress Ink "Vintage Photo" after cutting it out. On the background I used some brown texture cardstock and pink digi paper by Michele R Designs. In addition some lace, a paperflower coloured with ProMarker and a single bling. The text was ready in the tag and it says "Friends are angels on the Earth" in Swedish. :)

Iloista Uutta Vuotta!

Tämän sydämellisen kortin myötä toivotan kaikille lukijoilleni oikein Iloista Uutta Vuotta!

Kuva on ArtByMiranin "Angelica", joka on ABM Facebook ryhmässä käynnissä olevan Progressive -haasteen tämänkertainen kuva. Väritin kuvan ProMarkereilla, lisäsin pikkusydämiin vähän Sticklesiä ja ressasin reunat saksilla. Kuviopaperi on Lidlin lehtiöstä ja kerrostukseen käytin vaaleanpunaista kartonkia. Lisukkeena pitsiä ja Sizzixin stanssilla punaisesta kartongista leikattu sydän, johon leimasin tekstin. Tällä kortilla siis mukaan ArtByMiranin FB Progressive -haasteeseen.

With this card I want to wish Happy New Year to all my readers! The image is "Angelica" by ArtByMiran and it is the image for the current ABM Facebook Proggressive challenge. I coloured her with ProMarkers, added some Stickles to little hearts and distressed the edges of the image with scissors. The DP is from a stack from Lidl and I used some pink cardstock for layering. In addition some lace and a red cardstock heart cut with Sizzix die. With this card I participate in ArtByMiran FB Progressive challenge.

Pinkkiä ystävälle

Varsinainen Ystävänpäivä meni jo, mutta koska joka päivän ainakin pitäisi olla ystävän päivä, niin tässä yksi kortti ystävälle.

Valkealle korttipohjalle teippailin kolmea erilaista washiteippiä, lisäsin Sizzixin sydänstanssilla stanssatun ison sydämen ja FinnStamperin tekstileimalla leimatun tekstin, jonka stanssasin Nellie Snellenin ympyrästanssilla. Tekstin keskelle laitoin vielä pikkuruisen pinkin sydämen, joka on jämäpala yhdestä Sizzixin stanssista. Hyvin simppeliä, mutta iloitsin, kun kerrankin sain tehtyä kortin, jossa on teipit pääosassa. :)

Every day should be Friends' Day, so here is one card for a friend. I used three different washi tapes directly on the card base and added a pink heart cut with Sizzix die. In addition I used a text stamp by FinnStamper - it says "To a Friend" - and cut it with Nellie Snellen's circle die. As a cherry on the top I added a tiny pink heart in the middle of the text, that's a leftover piece from another Sizzix die. Very simple, but I'm really happy that I managed to make a card where washi tapes have the leading role. :)

Love, love, love

Se on sitten Ystävänpäivä tällä viikolla ja joka paikka on täynnä rakkautta. Näyttää olevan myös yleinen teema blogosfäärissä, sillä useammassakin haasteblogissa on teemana rakkaus.

Kuva on The East Windin helmikuun freebie digi "Aurora Hart Flower" ja väritin kuvan taas ProMarkereilla. Paidan sydämeen lisäsin vielä punaista Sticklessiä tuomaan vähän kimmellystä. Taustalla on punaista kartonkia, vaaleansininen kuviopaperi on Papermanian Capsule-sarjasta ja harmaa tekstikuviopaperi on silppulaatikon pohjalta. "Love" -teksti on pala washiteippiä, jonka liimasin punaiselle kartongille. Kerrostin kaikki paperit ja kuvan mustalla kartongilla ja lisäsin koristeeksi nauhoja, pitsiä ja sydän haaraniitit. Pitsi oli muuten alunperin valkoista, mutta värjäsin sen ProMarkereilla mustaksi, kun sopi mielestäni paremmin mustana tähän korttiin.

So, this week is all about the Valentine's Day and every place is full of love, including the challenge blogs. Well, I don't mind, love is such a positivite thing. :) In my card I used the lovely freebie of the month by The East Wind. It's called "Aurora Hart Flower" and I coloured her with ProMarkers adding just a bit of glitter to the heart of her shirt in form of Stickless. The background is red cardstock, the blue DP by Papermania and the grey text DP from my scraps box. The "love" text is actually a piece of washi tape, which I attached on red cardstock. I used black cardstock for layering all the paper elements. In addition ribbons, lace and heart brads. The lace was originally white, but I used ProMarkers to colour (or dye in this case) the lace in black as I thought that black lace matched this card better.

Iloisia värejä ystävänpäiväksi

Iloista perjantaipäivää kaikille blogiini eksyville! :) Tämä viikonloppu polkaistaan käyntiin kirkkailla väreillä ystävänpäivätunnelmissa. Joo, toki siihen ystävänpäivään on vielä pari viikkoa, mutta ajoissahan ne kortit pitää tehdä...

Kuva on Elisabeth Bellin Ready to Colour Art Bookista ja väritetty ProMarkereilla. Kortin leiskan poimin Papertake Weekly -haasteblogista. Kuviopaperi on DCWV:n joululehtiöstä, muuten kortissa käytetty keltaista kopiopaperia sekä oranssinpunaista ja punaista kartonkia. Pikkusydämet on stanssattu Sizzixin stanssilla - ovat itse asiassa isomman stanssin "ylijäämäpaloja". Tekstin kirjoitin koneella ja tulostin jämäkälle paperille. Lisukkeena hieman keltaista leipurinnyöriä.

Happy Friday to all readers! :) This weekend will start with bright colours and Valentine's Day wishes (though in Finland we celebrate Friend's Day instead of Valentine's). And yes, I know it's still couple of weeks until the Day, but one has to make the cards early enough - right?! The image is by Elisabeth Bell from Ready to Colour Art Book and I coloured this cutie girl with ProMarkers. The layout is from Papertake Weekly challenge blog. The DP is by DCWV - from a Christmas stack. In addition I used some bright yellow copy paper as well as orange-red and red cardstocks. The small hearts are cut with Sizzix die - they are actually the leftovers from a bigger die. The sentiment says "Happy Friend's Day" in Finnish and I typed it with my computer. In addition just some yellow baker's twine.

Söpöilyä

Tässä yksi söpöilykortti, joka sopisi vaikka ystävänpäiväkortiksi - tai miksei vaikka peräti hääkortiksi.

Molemmat kuviopaperit ovat setistä, jonka voitin joku aika sitten Sirpan arvonnassa, joten valitettavasti en tiedä valmistajaa. Kuva on Lily of the Valleyn valmis topperi. Kehystin paperit ja kuvan ruskealla paperilla ja heitin lisukkeeksi washiteippiä, kakkupaperin, puolihelmiä sekä paperiruusuja, joista yhden värjäsin punaiseksi. Melko nopea tehdä, mutta tästä tuli aikas kiva! Kiitos vielä Sirpa! :)

Here is one quick cutie card, which would be pretty perfect for Valentine's Day - but could maybe work even as a wedding card for some cute couple. :) Both DPs are from a set I won from Sirpa some time ago, so unfortunately I don't know the producer. The image is a ready-coloured topper by Lily of the Valley. I matted the image and papers with brown solid paper and added some washi tape, doily, flat pearls and roses. I coloured one of the roses with watercolour pencil and brush. This was quick to make, but this turned out to pretty sweet. Have to say that the ready-coloured topper saved tonnes of time! Thank you once again Sirpa! :)

Ystävyyden puu

Palataan vielä vähän ystävänpäiväteemaan - eikös ystävänpäivä ole kuitenkin joka päivä? Tämä kortti tosin meni jo ystävänpäivänä hyvälle ystävälle, mutta on jäänyt postaamatta.

Kortti on mielestäni melkoisen näyttävä, vaikka oli kuitenkin supersimppeli tehdä. Violetille korttipohjalle on kiinnitetty Lidlin paperikon kuviopaperi, puu ja tyttö ovat tarroja Tigerin seinätarrasetistä. Koska paperi on melkoisen koristeellinen ja puu täyttää melkein koko kortin, niin tuohon ei mielestäni mitään muuta tarvinnut. Kimalteetkin olivat jo valmiina paperissa ja tarrassa. Ystävyyden puu saa loistaa ja kimonoon puettu tyttönen sopi kuin nenä päähän rakkaalle ystävälleni, jolle kortti meni.
