Yllätys yllätys, tässä taasen kortti, jonka inpiraationa toimi digikuva. ;)

Tämä söpöläinen on Aurora Wingsin "Daisy Elf", jonka sain Facebookin Aurora Wings -ryhmän juhlahulinoissa ilmaiseksi. Väritin kuvan ProMarkereilla taustapapereihin sopivaksi. Tällä kertaa jätin kimalluksen kuvasta pois, mutta väritin myös taustan ProMarkereilla. Kuviopaperit on jälleen silppulaatikon kätköistä ja kerrostukeen olen käyttänyt oikein sähäkkää pinkkiä kartonkia. Tekstin kirjoitin tietokoneella. Lisukkeena kahta erilaista nauhaa, kakkupaperia, ProMarkereilla väritettyjä paperikukkia, blingejä sekä Spellbindersin stansseilla tehty perhonen, johon on vähän lisätty Sticklessiä.

This card was (once again) inspired by the digi image. This cutie is "Daisy Elf" by Aurora Wings and it was a freebie on Aurora Wings Facebook group as part of 2,250 member celebrations. I coloured the image with ProMarkers to match the DPs. This time I didn't use any glitter in the image, but I did colour also the background with ProMarkers. The DPs are again from my scraps box and I used some hot pink cardstock for matting. I wrote the sentiment with computer and it says "with warm thoughts" in Finnish. In addition two different ribbons, doily, paper flowers coloured with ProMarkers, gems and a butterfly. The butterfly is cut with Spellbinders die and I added some Stickless to its body and wings.

OMCF #34 "Recycle something" - DT post

Hello and happy Saturday dear readers! It is again time for a new challenge at Open-Minded Crafting Fun Challenges and we'd love for you to join the challenge this fortnight! The theme for the next two weeks is:

I'm a fan of recycling and like to collect all the buttons, ribbons, bows and blings from old items going to trash. I also recycle some boxes for gift and/or storage boxes - and here is one example.

The box is some very old video game box (maybe 10-15 years old), which I covered with DP imitating leather. The whole work was (once again) inspired by the awesome image, which I got for my DT work from our generous sponsor Doctor Digi House of Stamps. The image is called "Spells for Beginners" and when I saw it I knew immediately I want to alter a box. In addition to the image I used some metallic flat pearls, brass corners, ribbon, die cuts, sticker letters, brads and a button.

Here is a side view of the open box, which shows also the bottom part, where I used the same DP and then some golden ribbon around the edge. The lid has also a text, which I thought was fitting to the theme.

I coloured the image with ProMarkers and added some Stickles to the crystal ball in his staff. My hubby thinks this is the best colouring I've made so far and I have to say that I'm quite happy with it too, although at some point during the colouring process I was convinced that it was all ruined. I used Distress Ink "Walnut Stain" and "Tea Dye" to ink around the image and used some brown cardstock for layering. I used some brads in the corners of the image.

Here are couple of close-ups.  I spelled the word "sorcery" with some golden sticker letters close to the upper corner where I used some metallic flat pearls. All the die cuts are made with Sizzix dies. The button is recycled from some old jacket and I was so happy that its colour fit this box perfectly!

Heipä hei rakkaat lukijani - myös sinä, joka eksyit blogiini ensimmäistä kertaa! Tänään käynnistyy jälleen uusi haaste Open-Minded Crafting Fun Challenges -haasteblogissa ja seuraavien kahden viikon ajan teemana on kierrätys. Itse tykkään kovasti kierrättää muutakin kuin jätteitä, joten poimin aina talteen napit, nauhat, rusetit ja blingit jos jokin vaate tai muu esine on tullut tiensä päähän. Tuunaan ihan jonkin verran laatikoita lahjaksi tai säilytyskäyttöön, joten tällä kertaa päädyin kierrättämään ikivanhan videopelilaatikon. Kuten usein, tällä kertaa työni inspiraationa toimi digikuva. Kuvan sain DT-työhöni sponsoriltamme Doctor Digi House of Stampsilta ja se on nimeltään "Spells for Beginners". Väritin kuvan ProMarkereilla ja lisäsin sauvan kristallipalloon vähän Sticklessiä. Mieheni mielestä tämä on onnistuinen väritykseni tähän mennessä ja olen kyllä itsekin siihen oikein tyytyväinen, vaikka jossain vaiheessa väritysprosessin aikana meinasi epätoivo iskeä.

Päällystin laatikon nahkaa jäljittelevällä skräppipaperilla ja sen jälkeen lisäilin kanteen sekalaisen määrän koristeita: nauhaa, metallisia puolihelmiä, messinkikulmia, haaraniittejä, tarrakirjaimia, stanssattuja kuvioita ja napin. Laatikon pohjaosan päällystin samalla kuviopaperilla kuin kannenkin ja reunan peitin kauttaaltaan kultaisella nauhalla. Kannen sivuun liimasin tekstileikkeen, joka sopi mielestäni loistavasti laatikon teemaan. Stanssatut kuviot on kaikki tehty Sizzixin stansseilla ja tarrakirjaimilla kirjoitin sanan "sorcery" (noituus, taikuus, velhous) kanteen. Tuo nappi on muuten kierrätetty vanhasta takista ja sen väritys sopi loistavasti yhteen laatikon muun värimaailman kanssa.

Pehmeitä pastelleja ilman leimakuvaa

Vaikka rakastan erilaisia digikuvia ja niiden värittelyä, niin joskus on mukava tehdä kortti ilman värittelyjä. Tuossa tiistaina postasin pari miehistä korttia ilman leimakuvaa - nyt mennään hieman naisellisemmalla linjalla.

Tämän kuvan paperit sekä 3D -kuva on Papermanian Bellisima Decoupage -setistä. Kuvan taustalla olevan muodon stanssasin Sizzixin stanssilla ja lisukkeeksi laitoin pitsiä, kakkupaperia, Spellbindersin stansseilla leikatun perhosen sekä puolihelmiä. Suht nopea kasata, mutta melkoisen näyttävä tästä tuli silti. Värit on tosin taas tuollaiset superpehmeät ja utuiset - ei ihan mulle tyypillisimmät, mutta välillä näinkin.

Although I love different digital stamps and I love to colour them, sometimes it's nice to make a card without colouring. I posted on Tuesday couple of male cards without coloured image and now here is a bit more feminine card... :) The papers and the 3D decoupage image is from Bellisima Decoupage set by Papermania. I used Sizzix die to cut the shape under the image out of the green(ish) DP, which I used also for layering the butterfly DP. In addition I used some lace, a doily, flat pearls and a butterfly cut with Spellbinders die. This was rather quick to put together, but I like how fancy it looks. The colours are super soft and maybe not the most typical ones for me, but somehow I wanted to keep this soft and dreamy with this image.

Miehille - Some male cards

Julkaisin lauantaina "Merellistä tunnelmaa" -postauksessa kortin, jonka tein äitini pyynnöstä miehisemmäksi tervehdyskortiksi. Nämä kaksi korttia jatkavat tuota miehisten tervehdyskorttien linjaa.

Last Saturday I posted "Merellistä tunnelmaa" card, which I made when my mum asked me to make some male cards. These two male cards continue on that path.

Tyhjensin taas vähän silppulaatikkoani ja kasailin sekavan valikoiman vihreitä paperinpalasia tummanvihreän kartongin päälle. Kuva on Graphic 45:n skärppiarkista ja sen reunat ressasin saksilla ennen kuin kerrostin kuvan tummanvihreällä kartongilla. Lisukkeena pätkä vihreää nauhaa ja se oli siinä.

So I emptied my scraps box a bit and used various pieces of green papers for this card. I used some dark green cardstock for matting, but everything else - including this Graphic 45 image - is from my scraps box. In addition just a piece of green ribbon and that was it.

Toisessakin kortissa on silput pääosassa - ja kuva jälleen Graphic 45:n - mutta tässä on hieman kokeellisempi leiska. :) Lisukkeena pari ProMarkereilla väritettyä puunappia.

Also this card uses scraps - and the image is again Graphic 45. The layout in this is a bit more experimental than in the first one. :) In addition just couple of wooden buttons coloured with ProMarkers. 

Simply gorgeous

Tänään kortissa komeilee The East Windin kuukauden ilmaiskuva, joka tuli uutiskirjeen mukana.

Kuvan nimi on "Aurora Summer Breeze" ja väritin kuvan ProMarkereilla. Mekon ja hiusten vihreitä palluroita korostin vihreällä glittergeelikynällä. Taustalla on DCWV:n papereita ja tekstin kirjoitin tietokoneella. Kerrostin kaiken vaaleanpunaisella kartongilla ja lisäsin vähän nauhaa, Marianne Designsin stansseilla tehdyt simpukat sekä Fiskarsin lävistäjällä leikattuja kukkia. Kukat väritin ProMarkereilla mekkoon mätsääviksi ja niiden keskustoiksi laitoin tarrablingit. Leiskan poimin Papertake Weekly -blogista (leiska #79). Tästä kortista tuli superhempeä, mutta mielestäni tämä on aika täydellinen kesäkortti.

Today's card is made with gorgeous freebie of the month by The East Wind. The image came with the newsletter and she's called "Aurora Summer Breeze". I coloured her with ProMarkers and added some green glitter gel pen to the small dots in her dress and hair. The DPs are by DCWV and the sentiment is written by my computer. I used pink cardstock for matting. In addition some ribbon, sea shells cut with Marianne Designs die and some paper flowers cut with Fiskars punch. I coloured the flowers with ProMarkers to match the yellow in the dress and added some sticker blings to the centers. I made the layout using Papertake Weekly sketches, this is sketch #79. This is super pastel and maybe not my usual style, but I think this is quite perfect card for a sweet summer day. :)

Merellistä tunnelmaa

Tämä kortti syntyi, kun äitini toivoi jotain miehelle sopivaa tervehdyskorttia. Katselin valmiiksi tulostettuja digikuvia, joista tämä valikoitui. Kuten yleensä, kuva saneli mitä muuta korttiin tuli.

Väritin Delicious Doodlesin kuvan "Sunset at Sea" ProMarkereilla ja täytyy sanoa, että olen aikasta tyytyväinen kyllä tuohon taivaaseen. :) Ilokseni sain myös tietää, että Terillä on taas kauppa pystyssä ja Delicious Doodlesin kuvia löytyy Etsystä ArtiDoodles-nimen alla. Tätä kuvaa en sieltä tosin onnistunut löytämään, mutta muita maisemakuvia löytyy kyllä. Kehystin kuvan kraftilla, jota käytin myös taustapaprujen alla. Hiekkaa imitoiva kuviopaperi on silppulaatikon löytöjä, sinisen kopiopaperin olen kohokuvioinut Daricen pilvikohokuviointitaskulla. Lisukeena pätkä nauhaa sekä purjevenekoriste.

So I made this card after my mum asked if I could make some general greeting cards suitable for men. I glanced through the images I had printed out and found this beautiful image by Delicious Doodles. As usual, the image then inspired the rest of the card. So the image is called "Sunset at Sea" and I coloured it with ProMarkers. I have to say, that I'm really happy with the sky. :) I also found out that Teri is back and her Delicious Doodles images are available at Etsy under the name ArtiDoodles. I couldn't find this image on the shop though, but there are other gorgeous landscape images. I used kraft to mat the image and the background papers. The DP imitating sand is from my scraps box and I used Darice's embossing folder with the blue paper to get some clouds. In addition just a piece of ribbon and a sailing boat.

Maistuisiko pala kirsikkapiirasta?

Tässä synttärikortissa on nimittäin kirsikkapiiras pääosassa.

Kortti oli oikea pikakortti, tempaisin sen kasaan puolessa tunnissa värityksineen kaikkineen, kun mies oli jo suunnilleen vetämässä ulkokamppeita niskaan... Kaverin syntymäpäiville oltiin siis menossa eikä sopivaa korttia ollut valmiina. Tässä taustalla DCWV:n kuviopaperia kraftilla kehystettynä. Doodle Pantryn ilmainen "Cherry Pie" -kuva on väritetty ProMarkereilla ja stanssattu Nellie Snellenin stansseilla. Tietokoneella kirjoitettu ja tulostettu teksti on stanssattu saman sarjan pienemmällä stanssilla. Sekä kuvan että tekstin taustalla on myös kraftia. Lisukkeena paria erilaista nauhaa.

How about some cherry pie? This was a super quick card that I made in half-an-hour (colouring and all) when hubby was almost out of the door. We were heading to friend's birthday party and I didn't have any suitable card ready. I've used here a freebie image "Cherry Pie" by Doodle Pantry, which I've coloured with ProMarkers and cut with Nellie Snellen's die set. The text says "Happy Birthday" in Finnish and I've typed it with computer. I used the same Nellie Snellen die set to cut the text too. The DP is by DCWV and I used kraft for matting. In addition couple of different ribbons and that was it.
